company founded by Joseph Gaveau. Gaveau & Erard formed a single
company, Erard-Gaveau, in 1960. Etienne Gaveau is the son of Joseph.
Firm once controlled by Marcel & Andre Gaveau. Between 1960 and 1971
the company merged with Pleyel. In 1971 a contract of cooperation and
distribution was signed with Schimmel Piano Co. See Erard.
