HARDMAN, Est. 1842 by Hugh Hardman at 33 W. 57th St., New York. Hugh's
brother John joined the company in 1874 and Leopold Peck became a part-
ner in 1890. In 1890 the name was changed to Hardman Peck & Co. The
Aeolian Corp. took over the company and made pianos at 2718 Pershing
Ave., in Memphis, Tn. Made footpowered player pianos, in a small upright,
to retail in New York at $1295. Controlled the following pianos. Autotone,
Harrington, Hensel, Minipiano, Playtone, Standard and Hardman Duo Player.
